Ash Bishop has been signwriting full time since 1997 where he trained on the acclaimed Signwriting course at Hammersmith and West London College under Bruce Barber.
He has travelled widely to Letterhead meets and hosted his own, “Folk ’n’ Ale” in 2002. He has spent many happy hours working along side and learning from fellow letterheads all over the world including Mike Meyer, Stewart McLaren, Scott Telfer, David Kynaston and Jon Leeson to name a few… He has also trained with the celebrated David Smith and the father of glass work, Rick Glawson, in California.
His worked has ranged from the most basic vinyl to gilding cathedrals, including probably the largest hand painted signpainting contract in UK since the 1980’s for Pret A Manger. Amongst his ongoing contracts are Eton College, The College of St. George; Windsor Castle and The Tower of London.
Ash owns and runs with his wife Sarah The Brilliant Sign Co. who undertake all vintage signage but specialise in Victorian glass work and undertake many commissions in London.
